My Favorites – Vampire edition
I thought it would be fun to feature some of my favorite vampires in media over the next few days. What better place to start than with my TOP 3 portrayals of male vampires from TV or Film.
# 3 – Kraven of Underworld (portrayed by Shane Brolly)
Yes, yes, I know he’s technically the bad vampire in this film, given his pact with the Lycans and his power hungry ways, BUT I can’t help being fascinated each time he’s on camera. He’s visually perfect as the dark, brooding vampire and it’s a shame he was never given his own origin story film. You just know this guy comes with a heck of a lot of baggage and I’d love to see more of him. 😉
# 2 – Elijah Mikaelson of The Originals (portrayed by Daniel Gillies)
Every move he makes, every word he speaks, every time he shoots his cuffs after tearing out a heart, I swoon. He is perfection w/fangs.
# 1 – Henry Fitzroy of Bloodties (portrayed by Kyle Schmid)
I looooooove Henry! I bemoan the loss of the show daily. No joke. What’s not to love about a vampire who is ALL vampire. He goes out at night. He sleeps with his food. He’s the bastard son of Henry VIII….seriously, my ideal vampire. Nuff said.

New Interview
I was interviewed for Examiner.com about my latest release, upcoming projects and my writing process. You can check out a preview below as well as find a link to the full interview.
Buffy: Romance authors count among the most popular book writers, partly because the best romantic novels mix scorching romance with very human problems. While my own writing has romantic elements, I wouldn’t call myself a romance writer. But that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate those writers who do capture the genre and give me a good, engrossing story to boot.
One of my favorites is L. Rosario, a vampire fiction writer with a touch of historical romance thrown in. I was lucky enough to get caught up with her a couple of weeks ago to talk about writing books and her process. Those of you who are interested in exploring romance writing as a career will find her comments about the writing process extremely insightful.
(Buffy) Tell my readers a bit about you? How long have you been a writer?
(L) I was first published in 2006 and have eight books to my credit, seven currently available, one recently out of print. But I imagine, like most authors, I’ve been writing much longer than I’ve been published.

Reader review – Exiled
“Like staring too long into a vampire’s eyes, I’ve been enchanted by L. Rosario’s writing. I’ve fallen under an undeniable compulsion to read her work. In that spirit I’ve been perusing her back catalog and I’ve come across an absolute gem. The title of the book is Exiled.
Nadia isn’t a team player. When she refuses to swear her allegiance to the new queen of her coven, her master has no choice but to kick her out. Desperate to survive on the outside, she goes in search of an old acquaintance but gets more than she bargained for. A midnight chance encounter with a hot young stud provides an opportunity for her to do more than merely survive, if she can handle his rebellious nature and the unsettling feelings he stirs within her.
The love scenes sizzle with enough energy to satisfy even the undead. The romance is both tender and passionate. And Ms. Rosario’s writing is as pleasant as a cool breeze on a warm summer’s eve. This is one I highly recommend for lovers of beautifully crafted erotic vampire romance.”

My take – Interview with a Vampire remake
You may or may not be aware of all the online chatter lately regarding an Interview with a Vampire remake. Anne’s son, Christopher is penning the script. Such chatter inevitably leads to casting conversations, and at times, debates. Josh Boone, writer/director, made his opinion on the matter of Lestat quite clear on Twiiter.

I completely agree with Mr. Boone!! The possibility of seeing Jared as Lestat is almost too exciting for my brain to contemplate. And it is perfect casting. After all, Jared stopped aging decades ago! Just hit up Google for proof if you don’t believe me.
Anyway, thinking about Lestat got me thinking about Louis. I personally loved Brad Pitt as Louis in the original movie starring Tom Cruise so it took me awhile to mentally cast someone new. HOWEVER, inspiration struck. BEN BARNES. Did you see him as Dorian Gray? If not, do yourself a favor. The entire time I was watching the movie I kept thinking, “this kid should play a vampire!” So why not play Louis?
Just imagine…..

Captive Fantasy synopsis:
Seraphina Scala has just confessed she’s never had an orgasm and now her friend has the perfect solution; a night spent at Captive Fantasy, a club that guarantees to fulfill every deep, dark, secret desire. Sera would rather admit she’s a vampire than join her friend at such a place, but she doesn’t, and she finds herself surrounded by ravenous women and drop-dead gorgeous men. One in particular steals her attention…
Valentino was literally created to make fantasies come true. He’s used to the eager women who flood into Captive Fantasy every night to take what he offers, but when he meets the shy Sera, he knows he has his work cut out for him. Something about her strikes a chord deep inside, and he soon realizes he wants more than just a breathy thank you for a “job” well done.
Valentino awakens a side of Sera she’s kept locked away for nearly three centuries, and now she must confront her past, her present and her future. Doing so won’t be so bad with Valentino by her side, but will he want her once he realizes what she really is? Or will his secret be the one thing they cannot overcome?
